In a season opener against Iowa State, Kansas State’s defense held the Cyclones to only 21 points on 20 attempts.
But in a blowout loss to Texas Tech, the Wildcats surrendered 40 points on 28 attempts.
On offense, they ran out the clock for only one second of the game, and only scored three points on the day.
It was a far cry from the team that was once again on the hot seat with a game that included a pair of losses to ranked teams, but it was the start of a new era for the Wildcats in the Big 12.
